Marshes cover 79 hectares of Saint Sorlin, representing 15% of the village's 544-hectare surface area.
The marshes are spread across two areas: one known as "Pré Mérin", located just below the village (marked in red on the map) and the other, "Les Marais" (marked in yellow), around La Braille. There are 19.2 kilometres of rivers, streams and canals here, most of which are maintained by the marshland association.
