This chapel was built in the 13th century on top of a small hill overlooking the Bievre valley and enjoys a stunning view over the Alps and the Chambaran hills.
D'après la légende, la chapelle a été fondée par un Seigneur de Bressieux, qui au retour d'une croisade , fut surpris en mer par une violente tempête. Il fit vœu s'il en réchappait d'élever à la Saint Vierge une chapelle sur le coteau, en face de son château, qui par ailleurs se situe juste en face du château de Bressieux au Nord de la plaine de la Bièvre.
