The Charmant Som, splendid belvedere, is quite easy to reach (with 200 meters difference in height). It is one of the only peaks in Chartreuse which is not a sharpen crest but a curved mount with alpine pastures.
Accessible depuis le col de Porte par une petite route goudronnée (fermée l'hiver), le belvédère du Charmant Som offre une vue majestueuse sur la Chartreuse. Près du parking se trouve une auberge proposant restauration de montagne et produits laitiers. En traversant l'alpage, à environ 30 minutes de marche, on domine la combe Noire, on peut alors apercevoir le Monastère de la Grande Chartreuse et la Correrie en contrebas.
