At the instigation of mayor Paul Mistral, elected in 1919, Grenoble started developing and saw numerous building take shape, that have become today great examples of the Art deco architecture.
In reaction against traditional scenery, Art deco was a reference to nature around a stripped-down aesthetic with geometric lines and shapes that was highly innovative.
