Departing from Les Étages, you'll cross the Parc national des Écrins and brush up against some prestigious peaks. This alpine loop is for people in very good physical condition with experience of long walks.

D1 Les Étages > refuge du Carrelet

Ascent to the Carrelet refuge (1,909 m). Rope and crampon school on the Petit Chardon glacier (2,500 m), tour presentation. Overnight stay at the Carrelet hut.

D2 Refuge du Carrelet > refuge du Pigeonnier

Ascent of Mont Gioberney via the glacier du Says and the northwest ridge. Then descent via the south ridge to the Col du Gioberney (3,238 m). Overnight stay at the Pigeonnier refuge.

D3 Refuge du Pigeonnier > les Étages

Crossing Les Rouies (3,589 m). Climb to the summit of Les Rouies via the east shoulder. Easy descent to La Bérarde via the wild Vallon du Chardon (1,727 m).
