This neo-Roman edifice has been compared to a Gothic inspired project. On the outside, we can find some Roman artistry from the Auvergne region such as modillion cornices or multi coloured coves.
En revanche, à l'interieur, les puissantes nervures soulignant les voûtes d'arrêtes couvrant nef et bas-cotés sont plutot un trait de l'architecture gothique, style que Berruyer dont elle est l'oeuvre, affectionnait particulièrement. Il en réalisa d'ailleurs plus d'une trentaine en Isère.
