Le monastère de Chambarand a été construit par des moines de l'abbaye cistercienne Notre Dame de Sept-fons en 1868. Depuis, il a abrité des générations de moines, puis de moniales. Aujourd'hui, c'est la Fraternité Bernardine qui y perpétue la vie de prière, de travail, de lecture, de fraternité dans le respect du silence.
