Thanks to its geographical location, Saint-Sorlin de Morestel is home to a very rich diversity of animal and plant life.
In the region of Isle-Crémieu, the geology (marshy in the south and bordered by the River Rhône in the north-east and north-west) and the Rhône climate (part-continental, part-Mediterranean) have generated a whole patchwork of natural habitats that are conducive to the development of the plant and animal species that flourish here.
