The Bastille is an urban site overlooking Grenoble, made up of seven sectors on the foothills of the Bastille.
The Bastille site is made up of 7 sectors:
-Les Lames: one of Grenoble’s major sites; it is characterized by a difficult rock formation and a concentration of 8-shaped routes. It is made up of a series of staggered flakes, making for interesting dihedral cracks.
-Mas d’Oris: a cliff on the left of les Lames, just at the beginning of the access route, level 6a to 7c.
-La Carrière: rock boulders in all their glory, rounded rocks and exposed boulders in case of fall.
-La Ciamaïette: cliff on the right of les Lames. Short and very overhanging routes, level 6a to 7c and up in boulder style.
-Le Château: surely the least frequented area of the Bastille.
-Le Père Gras: large gray slab on the right of les Lames. A few overhanging routs to the left, level 6a to 7b.
-The Rabot boulders: an ensemble of small cliffs in the Dauphins gardens.
